Angela’s Lab | From Mud Mania to Ballet Recital

What a week!!

Last Tuesday was my daughter’s last day of Kindergarten (sniff…), we endured endless hours of sitting at dress rehearsals for her big ballet recital this past weekend, plus a few summer camp sessions, tennis and swimming. I spent a lot of time running around. Then throw in the fact that we live in Phoenix where it’s averaging around 110 degrees right now. Whew. How do all you moms with more than one kid to cart around to multiple activities do it? You have my admiration.

What does this have to do with fashion? Well, during weeks like this one it’s a challenge to look pulled together for sure. I am not going to claim that I spent extra time styling my outfits each day like I normally might because I didn’t. A week like this is where having go-to, always-love, always-fit basics comes in super handy. And comfort is a factor. When I’m running around (especially when it’s crazy hot) shorts, an easy breezy top and cute sneakers or flats are what you’ll find me in. Unfortunately I didn’t capture any pictures, since unlike many of the bloggers out there, I don’t have a boy-photog following me around all day since my husband actually works.

And what is Mud Mania you ask? At Christina’s school Mud Mania is a Kindergarten rite of passage. On the last day, all the Kindergarteners wear their swimsuits and stand around this big mud hole/pit, then get in at the same time. As a self-admitted germ-a-phobe, I was happy that she walked around in the mud then hopped out after a few minutes. For this activity, I was fully prepared to get sprayed with a little mud or water and I wore my trusty denim boyfriend shorts and camo sneakers.

Summer vacation is officially here for the Kellers! And we are ready for it.
