Angela’s Lab | What I’m Wearing for Mother’s Day

Mother’s Day is one of my favorite holidays since I take time out to celebrate with my family how blessed I am to be a mom! And, how lucky I am to have a wonderful mom and mother-in-law! Not to mention it’s fun to be pampered by our kids and husbands, right? It’s the one day (other than your birthday) they make an extra effort not to ask you to do too many things for them. That is, if your kids are old enough to grasp the concept. Mother’s Day is also one of those heavily photographed times and moms are the star in every photo. Make sure you decide in advance (at least the night before!) what you’re wearing, so when you finally get up after being served breakfast in bed, there’s no “I-have-nothing-to-wear” anxiety on the big day.

I already have my outfit mapped out. Yes, I’m a little ahead of the game this year, which is awesome. A tailored white dress paired with a feminine jacket is the perfect modern choice for the day. Florals are lovely, but so expected, and I love the clean lines of this look. With its A-line skirt, the cut of this dress is flattering on all figures and perfect for so many situations and occasions (with the exception of a wedding due to the white of course — however, it also comes in blue!). While I’ve dressed the look up here, you can easily give this dress a more casual vibe with designer sneakers or boho gladiator sandals. Oh, and it has pockets, which I love. It’s a blank canvas — the type of piece you want to invest in for your closet. A structural statement necklace, cobalt blue bag for a pop of color, and nude heels to elongate my legs complete the outfit. Happy Mother’s Day!!
