Angela’s Lab | Red Carpet Winners at the Oscars

The Super Bowl of red carpet fashion, the Oscars are watched as closely for who and what the stars are wearing as for who takes home the coveted gold guy on a pedestal. Blush and nude tones reigned supreme as the color of choice last night, and we also saw navy, black, pastels and a few bright colors that lit up our screens in HD. Overall, stars seemed to be embracing minimalism in solid colors and fewer statement jewels than we’ve seen at some of the past shows, with Best Actress Cate Blanchett being an exception to this look in her gorgeous, magical, embellished gown by Giorgio Armani. Cate is one of my Top 5 best-dressed choices for last night, and the other 4 include: Best Supporting Actress Lupita Nyong’o in Prada (she is seriously on a fashion roll), the stunning Charlize Theron in Dior Couture, JLaw (aka Jennifer Lawrence) in Dior Couture, and Sandra Bullock outdid herself in Alexander McQueen. Well done, ladies!

I have a few additional notable fashion recognitions that I would like to bestow on some of our favorite stars walking the red carpet at the Oscars.

And the Haute Mom award goes to… Kerry Washington in Jason Wu! She is positively radiant. Olivia Wilde with her growing bump looks stunning as well.

Johnny Weir was not impressed with Lupita’s headband. On The Today show: “We are not in gym class.” Very funny.

OMG – Can we talk about Diane Kruger’s Vanity Fair after party look?? So perfect. //
