Gold Medal USA Style for the Win
The 2016 Summer Olympics are underway in Rio! Team USA is off to an amazing start with Michael Phelps continuing his quest to ensure he maintains his position in all-time medal domination and the women’s gymnastics team winning gold again. The Olympics inspires us like no other sporting event with stories of challenge, sacrifice and triumph by our athletes. Plus, the event brings the world together as one global community, which is perhaps more poignant now than ever, due to the numerous attacks in recent months at home and around the world. And then there’s the fashion. There were some “interesting” looks this year, from Australia’s school uniform ensemble to South Africa’s nod to the Ninja Turtles and Sweden’s bright yellow outfits by H&M. Team USA was full-on preppy in Ralph Lauren. The hot, oiled-up guy from Tonga gets our vote for best undressed… not surprisingly, he was all over social media after the opening ceremony. In the spirit of the games, we’ve styled a few classic looks that give a nod to our country’s colors and are perfect for watching the games or simply showing your support. Go Team USA!!
