Casual-Cute Summer Style

Gray is such a sophisticated hue that it even makes casual tees look more chic. But perhaps even better, it’s a neutral that pairs with any color of the rainbow and makes brights pop, including orange and yellow. These two colors with our other favorite neutral — black of course! — are a little tricky to pull off without looking like it’s Halloween or you’re a bumblebee in the case of the latter. Gray is black’s cooler cousin and a terrific choice as a summer neutral.

My graphic tee and basic black shorts are easy to wear around town in the heat of summer or pack for a family vacation. I love the saying on the shirt — “Live in the Moment”! It’s a great reminder to put work aside while on vacation (or at home!) and be present for my family. This is easier to say than do sometimes. I took advantage of the outfit’s minimal look and added these fun gingham espadrilles — still comfy, but they add flair and interest. Of course, you can just as easily wear sneakers or wedges.

Christina generally prefers dresses over pants or shorts, so the casual sundress is her summer uniform when she’s not in her swimsuit. The colored stripes really pop off the gray background and hot pink sandals are the ideal accent. Another easy-to-wear, washable summer look that also makes a great beach cover-up!
