Angela’s Lab | Spring is in the Air

Last night I joined Colleen’s Dream Foundation supporters at the Kendra Scott launch party for her Spring 2015 Avant Garden Collection, and was charmed by the designer’s latest offerings. Her Avant Garden Collection is pretty and feminine, and rooted in colors like blush pink, mint green, lilac, turquoise and white. She uses stones such as rose quartz, drusy, blue lace agate, and kyocera opal (one of my personal favorites) for her creations, and you can choose from rose gold, gold or silver. Kendra has updated some of her best-selling staple pieces like the Harlow statement necklace in spring colors and Danielle earrings in crackle crystal, as well as adding some new on-trend designs in the form of hand-chain bracelets, pinch bracelets, and open rings. Since I have a number of the signature pieces already, I particularly fell in love with the new designs and of course walked out with several additions for my jewelry collection. It’s difficult to walk into one of her stores and not walk out with a bag, especially when 20% of your purchase goes to a charity like Colleen’s Dream as it did last night.

On another note, I’m impressed by the fact that Kendra Scott continues to roll out beautiful, wearable collections season after season. I think of her as the Tory Burch of jewelry — she’s brilliant and knows what women want.

SumoMaya in Scottsdale provided the delicious drinks and bites. The guacamole with pomegranate seeds is so yummy. If you haven’t been there yet, add it immediately to your list of must-try restaurants. Think Asian-Mexican fusion — delish!
