It happened this weekend. The weather finally took a turn for cooler and we can officially, comfortably start wearing our sweatshirts and sweaters. And drinking hot pumpkin spice lattes instead of iced -- my first one this morning made me smile. In Phoenix, the cool temps may only be in the mornings for now, since the afternoons are still on the toasty side, but I'll take it! This past Saturday I had the pleasure of being the guest judge for the annual Beauty Face-Off competition at Neiman Marcus Scottsdale! There were so many amazingly-talented makeup artists showing off their skills and new fall collections on the lucky ladies being made over that I had a very difficult time choosing a winner. The primary theme for the looks being created (and a major trend this season according to style guru Ken Downing) was SPARKLE! I have a whole drawer full of scarves. Wrap scarves, neckerchiefs, oblong and square-shaped -- you name it, I probably have it. About 15 years ago I went through a scarf phase when I wore this under-rated, yet always sophisticated and polished, accessory on a regular basis. In the last five years, I can't say that I've opened my scarf drawer a whole lot, except to occasionally tie one to my handbag or wrist for a splash of color and interest.
