Sheree Hartwell

Mom to almost 2-year-old Lillian Grace, Sheree Hartwell is the owner of the FORD/Robert Black Agency in Scottsdale, Arizona. She started modeling herself at age 12, and then upon finishing college, decided to go into the business side of modeling. Sheree worked as an agent before buying the agency from Robert Black in 2005. In addition to running FORD, she is the Southwest District Director for Fashion Group International, a professional organization with over 5,000 members in the fashion industry worldwide. As a business owner and mom, Sheree is constantly challenged with maintaining the perfect balance between her business and personal life, and inspires us by always looking fresh and stylish while doing it.

MSL: Describe your style in five words or less.
Simple, timeless, and comfortable.

MSL: What’s the one item in your closet you can’t live without, that makes you feel both chic and comfortable?Black pants.

MSL: Do you have any tips on how you streamline your morning routine?
I get up well before Lillian to make sure that I have ‘my’ time to get ready, watch some news, and prepare for the day. It makes getting her up and us both out the door, much more smooth.

MSL: In your opinion, what is the biggest fashion “don’t” for moms?
Clothes that are too tight. Embrace your size and rock it!

MSL: Fashion often comes with a price tag stigma. Do you have any advice for moms who have Jimmy Choo dreams, but a Target budget?
I always accessorize with items from all price ranges. You could wear a Target dress and accessories with high-end designer earrings or shoes. That way you are able to mix and match.

MSL: Developing a unique style comes at an early age for some children. Do you let Lillian choose what she’s going to wear? How do you talk about getting dressed with her?
I pick out a few outfits and hold them up in front of Lillian and ‘allow’ her to make a selection. Some days are easier than others of course, but I truly believe in allowing them to make their own decisions on clothes. It helps them to express themselves.

MSL: Whose style do you most admire and draw inspiration from?
I have really enjoyed seeing Kate Middleton’s style evolve as she’s become a new mother. She is stylish, yet comfortable and presentable.
