What Real Moms Want for Mother’s Day

Sunday, May 8th is the big day! Whether you are a mom being honored by your family or you are honoring your own mom, it’s a day that touches everyone. If you are planning to go to brunch or dinner, make sure whoever is responsible for making the reservation doesn’t procrastinate as restaurants book out weeks in advance.

Plus, it’s one of the biggest gift buying events of the year. Instead of assembling our own “must-have” gift guide this year, we thought it would be fun to get ideas by finding out what a few of our favorite moms want for Mother’s Day, in addition to world peace and a better world for our children of course.

“I am most looking forward to sleeping in and having breakfast in bed made by my little boys.  I always LOVE to see what they put on the breakfast tray.  It’s never anything fancy, but the granola bars, dry cereal and bottled water is perfect for me as I know it comes from their little hearts!  I wouldn’t want anything different.

I also look forward to the surprises that my husband Jeff has planned for me throughout the day.  Being with my family is what makes my Mother’s Day and every day special.”

“I actually received an EXTRA special Mother’s Day gift this year from my husband last week at a private dinner we had at Tiffany & Co. This amazing experience was donated to Colleen’s Dream to sell during our recent fundraising gala. Our friend, Jerry Cacciatore, won the raffle and was kind enough to invite me, my sisters, and our husbands to celebrate his 31-year anniversary with his beautiful bride, Amy, and his amazing daughter, Marie, and her boyfriend, Jeff. After a few drinks, Billy bought me the most gorgeous diamond eternity band. I can’t stop looking at it. I am still overwhelmed!

As far as what we will do on the day, I would like to have brunch with my husband and kids and hopefully have dinner that evening with my sisters. Since our mom passed away, Mother’s Day can be a bit tough, so we all like to be together to remember how blessed we are that she was our mom.”
