Angela’s Lab | Spring Break Part 2 – California
From the Emerald City to the Golden State, next stop – Northern California! I love the Bay Area, especially San Francisco and the Peninsula which reminds me a lot of my hometown, Seattle, with its unique look and personality combined with the water and bonus, the weather is better. My husband and I lived in the Bay Area for several years in the early ’90s, while we finished college and started our careers, so we feel right at home here. This trip was brief and primarily for business, but I managed to squeeze in a little retail therapy at the beautiful outdoor mall that is Stanford Shopping Center. In addition to all the luxury retailers, a primary draw (at least for my daughter) was the American Girl store.
Love the vibrancy and color of this Kate Spade window! And I’m obsessed with her new “lemon slice” clutch for spring.
I found some terrific pieces at J. Crew, who you can always count on for casual chic tops and gorgeous statement jewelry.
Top, J. Crew. Jeans, Rag & Bone. Shoes, Pedro Garcia (similar here). Necklace, J. Crew. Sunglasses, Bvlgari (similar here).
We stayed at the Sofitel in Redwood City, which is lovely and on the water. The crisp modern architecture and blue-toned décor is so California, even though many of the very friendly hotel staff hail from France.
All in all, an action-packed, but relaxing, Spring Break! Back to school next week.
