Fab Finds | The Fanny Pack is Back

Of course, it's no longer called a fanny pack, because that's SO '80s! It has a new, more sophisticated name to rebrand its "little old lady" image and is now known as the oh-so-chic "belt bag." After hitting the height of popularity a few decades ago, it went from youthful at the time to a must-have for older folks and lost it's hip image faster than you can say.... well... fanny pack. Designers brought this old favorite back a few years ago and the old-new trend has really picked up momentum. But, don't try to grab your old fanny pack... gone are the cheap nylon versions of yesteryear and they've been replaced by ...Read more.

Best Dressed on the Oscars 2018 Red Carpet

Last night at the Oscars, Hollywood royalty floated down the red carpet in a rainbow of colors -- a complete turnaround from the sea of black at the Golden Globes. We also saw our fair share of golden goddess gowns and ethereal dresses fit for a princess. My personal number one had to be Jennifer Garner (fun fact: she's also my birthday twin!) in her stunning cobalt-blue Versace gown -- she positively glowed and stole the red carpet. And, Nicole Kidman was ready for the paparazzi in her structural, yet utterly feminine, sapphire-blue gown by Armani. I love that the red carpet was optimistic, vibrant and awash with vivid ...Read more.

Scottsdale Fashion Week officially opened last Wednesday at Mercedes Benz of Scottsdale with a glamorous runway show featuring the stunning designs of Contessa LA. Best described as "sexy glam," the line is designed and created by the lovely duo of Anna Sycz and Viridiana Higareda. The gorgeous gowns and dresses that sashayed down the runway on Ford Robert Black models were all beautifully embellished, extra sparkly, and intricately finished. To sum up the looks in one word...  showstoppers. We predict we'll be seeing a lot more of Contessa LA on the red carpet, both around town and in Hollywood. ...Read more.

"Mommy, are they bringing back the Teddy Bear Tea at Christmas?" This is the burning question my daughter asked when I told her I was invited to attend the official site dedication for the highly-anticipated Ritz-Carlton, Paradise Valley resort community this week. If you've lived in Phoenix for a few years and have kids, you'll remember the Ritz-Carlton in the Biltmore area and the wildly-popular Teddy Bear Tea, which sold out by mid-October every year. Fingers crossed, I told her. Tea or not, the new Ritz promises to be stunning and is the centerpiece of the largest luxury resort community being developed in Arizona ...Read more.

My Perfect Night Out Involves Food & Wine

How often do you and your significant other schedule a date night? Meaning no kids tagging along, of course. Just grown-up conversation and a flashback to what it was like BK (Before Kids). I have friends that do this really well and have a date night once a week. Me? Not so much. We need to get better about setting aside time to spend as just a couple. It just seems like life always gets in the way. When we do plan a date night, it generally involves food and wine. Lots of great food and wine. Enter T. Cook's third annual "Cellar Series." These special events not only offer an amazing intimate dining experience, but ...Read more.
