From bubblegum pink and sunny yellow to emerald green and glow-up orange, fashion is in an optimistic mood this spring! Fashionistas all over the globe are ready to emerge from their cocoon and embrace all the bright, happy colors of the season. (Brights not for you? Pastels are in too!) So, in addition to these eye-popping colors, what else is haute for spring? Key words are: fun, frivolous and easygoing. Yes, you can take the girl out of quarantine, but you can't take away her sweatpants. Even jeans and trousers are relaxed and roomy. Not the most flattering look on everyone, but as always, "you do you" and wear ...Read more.

Our Golden Globes Best-Dressed List

Red carpet season is definitely not the same during this crazy pandemic, but we are still ALL IN on seeing the stars dressed in the latest couture! Fashion is a bright spot, something frivolous and fantasy-driven that we can discuss and enjoy. It takes our mind off all of the seriousness and concerning news happening around us right now... even if only for a few minutes. The night of the awards show (albeit virtual) I posted my virtual red-carpet favorites on Instagram Stories and one of my friends commented that she doesn't watch the show any more, but loves seeing my best-dressed picks to keep up with the fashion. ...Read more.

How to Take a Virtual Trip to San Francisco

So, 2020 definitely wasn't like past years, when we traveled to beautiful places and hopped a plane at the last minute for a getaway... sigh. Our daughter was especially disappointed we weren't able to head to some of our favorite destinations (and new ones!) over the past year. While we wait longingly for those carefree days to come back, "virtual trips" are a fun way to bring a little excitement to the never-ending quarantine routine. We had been planning a trip back to San Francisco last summer that didn't materialize, so I decided to bring a piece of the City By the Bay to us! I wanted to keep it a surprise, so ...Read more.

Gluten-Free Pink Pancakes

How do you like your pancakes? Thin and crepe-y or thick and cake-y? At our house, it's all about the sky-high stack of crepe-like flapjacks with more room for layering all the things. This gluten-free, dairy-free, refined sugar-free recipe is my go-to for yummy, healthy pancakes. And, because everything's prettier in pink, I added 5 drops of pink food coloring for light hue of my favorite color. The pink hue (plus sprinkles!) adds color to brunch, sleepovers and weekends when you want to make breakfast a little extra. My daughter and her friends love them! Plus, if you've been following along on the blog for the ...Read more.

Pro Tips: How to Dress 10 Pounds Slimmer Now

We don't have the stats on how many of us added a few pounds over the very intense, stressful, stay-at-home year that was 2020... BUT raise your hand if you've been living in loungewear and pouring yourself a glass or two of wine with dinner on the daily. Yeah, we thought so.... us too. While our communities opening up and returning to some semblance of normal is still a ways off, we are starting to mentally prep for the idea of getting dressed in regular (read: non-stretchy) clothes again. Our gift to you is DON'T worry about the extra pounds right now, instead think LEAN! And, hide your overindulgence by styling ...Read more.

Pro Styling Tips for Your Family Photo Shoot

It's 2020 and the year of COVID and quarantine.... who else is crazy late on pulling together their annual family photo shoot?? Are you even doing a picture this year and holiday cards? So many aren't, but we are "Camp Holiday Card" and say it's better late than never. New Year's cards are great too! I'm a fan of Shutterfly or Minted as the quality is good, and they make it easy to upload your mailing list and save time. Although I still prefer to hand address the envelopes, which makes it a little more personal. Whether you’re having a masked-up professional photographer take the picture-perfect shot outside or ...Read more.

Gluten-Free Chocolate Olive Oil Cake

Yes, it's true... I've revamped my olive oil cake that you all loved for the holidays! This version is chocolate topped with crushed candy canes -- so festive! Plus, it's gluten-free, dairy-free and low in sugar compared to other holiday favorites. The almond flour gives it a denser texture, but it's super moist and delicious, and you don't feel like you're sacrificing anything to eat a little healthier this season. Pro tip: Use a pretty bundt cake pan, pop it on a fancy crystal cake stand, and wow everyone at the table with your domestic goddess skills. A sprig of holly or pine would add extra color. Gluten-Free ...Read more.
