Arizona Midday | Spring 2022 Trends
In January, while the rest of the country is under winter weather warnings, those of us lucky enough to call Arizona home are soaking up the sun and moderate temps during our patio season, as we like to call it. Northerners flock here this time of year for car shows and golf tournaments, and we start to dress transitionally in spring fashion, albeit layered with a puffer jacket in the morning. I recently chatted with Destry Jetton and shared the top Spring 2022 trends on Arizona Midday. All of the featured looks are from Saks Fifth Avenue at Biltmore Fashion Park and are modeled by three of my favorite local Instagram style stars, Afi Like Taffy, Leslie Lehr Living and Lisa Moore Beauty. (If you’re not following them yet, you need to be!)
1 | Bold Prints
Bold and tropical prints are a huge trend this season, as we all are ready to get out of our pandemic sweatpants and start vacationing again! This Farm Rio Dress worn by Afi is perfect for day layered with tank, the office paired with a blazer, or no tank + Hollywood tape and stilettos for a night out.
Model Sidebar: Afi is a talented stylist and personal shopper, and her Instagram page – Afi Like Taffy – is chockfull of style inspo and must-have pieces. Her personal style is a combination of glamorous, bold and feminine — we love it all!
2 | Dark Denim
Dark denim is back and I am not sad about it! It’s more flattering than light denim, easier to dress up or down, and stain friendly. For those of you that love the light washes, don’t worry they’re not out of the picture yet. Leslie is wearing AG Jeans with a lightweight Tory Burch sweater, and a pop of pink Saint Laurent bag.
Model Sidebar: Leslie is the girlfriend every woman needs in her corner! Her Instagram page – Leslie Lehr Living – is where the modern day superwoman can learn to live her best life with les(s) at home, work and play. Les has organizing tips and loads of lifestyle inspiration!
3 | Electric Color
It is a fact that bright colors help to boost your mood! And, good news, electric colors are on trend for Spring 2022, from hot pink and sunshine yellow to neon green and bold coral. Ready for a night out, Lisa is modeling a Generation Love sequin moto jacket and matching cami, paired with a classic black pencil skirt. You can also style the jacket for day by pairing it with a white button-down shirt or graphic tee and denim.
Model Sidebar: Lisa is a celebrity makeup artist and Chanel beauty ambassador at Saks Fifth Avenue. Her Instagram page – Lisa Moore Beauty – is full of beauty tips, new products and beauty inspiration. She can also help you shop any of the looks featured on the show! Simply contact her at the Biltmore Fashion Park Saks store, 602.955.8000.
4 | Voluminous Sleeves
Ahhh…. romance is in the air for spring with voluminous sleeves. This look has been trending over the last few seasons and a personal favorite of mine. Voluminous sleeves are so pretty alone or layered under a 3/4-sleeve jacket or vest. Leslie looks beautiful in this print dress by Zimmermann. The belt cinches in the waist and tames the volume of the dress — so flattering!
5 | Cutouts
Afi shows us how to wear one version of the cutout trend in the form of this red-carpet-worthy goddess gown by Zimmermann. With small cutouts around the neckline and a halter-style top, this dress looks glamorous on a wide variety of body types. For the more daring among us, cutouts around the midsection are another popular way to embrace this haute spring trend.
