Angela’s Lab | Transition to Fall

The mornings are cooler, the sky looks a little more hazy and the light diffused... fall is in our sights. My favorite time of year. Oh, and the salted carmel mocha and pumpkin spice latte are back at Starbucks! Time to begin our wardrobe transition to fall and more rich, luxe textures, colors and fabrics. But we're in the in-between phase and it's still too warm for tweed, leather and fur, so the perfect transition pieces come in the form of autumnal and deeper jewel tone hues, suede booties and the latest denim. Welcome back, fall -- we've missed you so!! ...Read more.

Distressed over how to wear the biggest look in jeans since, well... skinnies?? Distressed denim is oh-so-haute and age is not a factor -- it's more about your personal style really. And, "distressed" doesn't have to mean jeans with big holes in the knees and legs, although it can be fun to wear ripped, holey denim with a pretty tailored top and heels for a change, especially if you're working on up-levelling your street style cred. Patchwork has also entered the scene as a new distressed denim look, and jeans with fringe around the bottom of the legs are a great choice for the more conservative fashionista. Have you ever had a great idea to make life a little easier, but weren’t sure how to bring it to fruition so didn’t act on it? Well, our Mom Muse Annie Abraham had a great idea and DID act on it! We are not only impressed with her invention, but also feel inspired to do our own out-of-the-box thinking! Annie – like most of us – struggled in the morning to quickly pull together and accessorize her outfit for work, while juggling getting her son ready for school and heading out the door on time. We all know this feeling.... Enter her creation – Jewelinx! This organizing tool is perfect for helping reach your ...Read more.

Angela’s Lab | Good-bye to Summer

Labor Day weekend is the unofficial end of summer. The sun is setting on carefree days, spontaneous trips to the beach, lazy days at the pool and time to do whatever we choose. Most kids have returned to school and it's time to get back to our daily routine. And, so our wardrobe begins to transition to fall... I'm reluctant to completely let go of summer yet (plus it's still 100+ degrees here in Phoenix!), so I paired my silky fringe kimono (doubles as a swim cover-up and it's a steal on sale right now!) with jeans and booties. The look still works in the heat of Arizona summer, but eases me into fall. Cheers to the ...Read more.

Angela’s Lab | How to Pretty Up Your Menswear

Tailored menswear is one of my favorite looks, especially when it's styled with ladylike accessories. It's the perfect marriage -- the menswear offers a solid, structured foundation and the feminine pieces add personality and flair to pretty up the pairing. Not only is this style classic, it's comfortable and perfect for everyday, from business meetings to school pick-up. And, I'm so excited that one of my all-time fav accessories is back in a really big way right now -- the silk scarf!! I have a drawer full of vintage scarves that I will be digging into this season and adding around my neck, to my handbag or my ...Read more.
