Styling Hacks to Stretch Your Wardrobe
Raise your hand if you dropped a chunk of change over the holidays and have vowed to do a better job of shopping your closet this year? At least until your Amex hangover is over… We have some styling hacks to help make what’s old look new again. Plus, if you do need to add a few key pieces right now there’s SO much on sale!!
1 | Cuff your skinny jeans.
Wide-leg jeans are the latest trend to hit the denim scene, but we still love our skinnies! Add a one-roll cuff and a short bootie for a whole different look that’s chic and easy to wear.

2 | Add a long-sleeve top under a sleeveless dress.
This layering trick changes the look of a sleeveless sheath entirely. A turtleneck adds warmth, just make sure it’s relatively thin so you don’t add bulk. Silky or sheer blouses work great without adding any bulkiness, and so do tees. Choose the texture and color that best compliments the dress.

3 | Pair leggings with a mini dress.
Spring is coming, but we have a few months until we’ll be ready to bare our legs. Take a page out of your daughter’s lookbook and layer your favorite fitted leggings under a mini dress. Looks winter-appropriate and keeps you warm, while letting you edge into your spring attire. Add boots and you’re done.

4 | Layer your white button-down with a sweater vest.
These are two items we are betting you have hanging in your closet. Tuck your button-down into a pencil skirt for a polished look or let it hang out the bottom and pair with cropped trousers for a more downtown, menswear vibe.

5 | Mix sequins and denim.
For a street-style savvy look, wear your sequin top that was a holiday staple with your everyday jeans and heels. Skinnies, wide-leg, cropped or distressed jeans will work and add an edgy, casual-chic feel to your style. High-heeled pumps or booties, plus a daring clutch, take the outfit to the next level.
