Spring Trends I Love from NY Fashion Week

Even though I just started ordering Pumpkin Spice Lattes and my boots came out from hiding this week, my mind was focused on Spring 2016 as designers debuted their collections during the biannual, fashionable frenzy that is New York Fashion Week. I particularly loved seeing the ultra feminine look, including ruffles, off-the-shoulder tops and pink, as well as the relaxed menswear, meaning slouchy trousers and deconstructed pinstripes. The Cannes Film Festival is one of those red carpet moments worth following. Gingham tends to conjure up images of little girls in pastel-colored sundresses and picnics, and no doubt it has a ladylike vibe, but when done right the trend can inject a dose of whimsy into your everyday wardrobe without going over the top. For one thing, we're seeing a lot of black & white gingham, which moves the look into sweet and sexy Brigitte Bardot territory. Or mixing gingham prints and colors gives the print a street-style look.
