Arizona Midday | 5 Ways to Elevate Your Fall Style

September has arrived! Following the summer that wasn’t…. and we are SO ready for the cool down and all things fall! Still in quarantine-baking mode, I made my seasonal pumpkin chocolate chip muffins yesterday… why not start early? And, with schools and businesses starting to open up, it’s time to start thinking about trading our stay-at-home casual wear for actual clothes we don’t mind being seen wearing in public. While you won’t catch us venturing out without a mask for the foreseeable future, they can’t take away fall fashion from us! On Arizona Midday, I show five ways to elevate your fall style and how to wear a few of our favorite trends.

1 | Preppy Plaid

We love the pop of pink and retro vibe of this pretty Trina Turk Top (available at Trina Turk online or Scottsdale Fashion Square).
This flattering Smythe Blazer is tailored prep at its finest and the puffy shoulder gives it a feminine feel (available at Amy Atelier online or their new spacious new shop on Stetson Drive in Scottsdale, 480-702-4383).

2 | Daytime Sequins

Stylist & blogger Afi Like Taffy models daytime sequins in a Derek Lam 10 Crosby top, Paige Denim jeans, and Frye boots (similar Frye boots here). Be sure to follow this inspirational style star on Instagram and check out her blog! Photos by Nicole Davidson.
We love this Blanka Boutique Duster paired with jeans as much as we do with a cocktail dress!

3 | Statement Belt

If you don’t have a statement belt, are you really a fashion girl? Designer logo belts have taken the fashion world by storm and, while Gucci started the craze, other brands have followed suit with their own covetable designs. Afi Like Taffy shows us how to style this uber-popular statement logo belt by Gucci — love! Afi is also wearing a darling sweater by Joie (similar here), Topshop jeans, a YSL crossbody bag and Gorjana jewelry. Photo of blogger Afi Maita (Instagram @afiliketaffy) by Nicole Davidson.
Big belts are on point, and we’re so feeling the boho vibe of this one by Free People.

4 | Colorful Suiting

Tailored separates like this Cinq a Sept Blazer & Trousers look fabulous together for a more professional look or worn as separates after hours (available at Amy Atelier online or their new spacious new shop on Stetson Drive in Scottsdale, 480-702-4383). The blazer with denim and heels or the trousers with a chunky sweater and boots, both for the win!

5 | Combat Boots

Military influence is strong this season, from camo to combat boots, and we’re obsessed. Here, I paired my camo jeans by Hudson and edgy Karl Lagerfeld boots with a feminine top.
Doc Martens are back in full force and Christina is rocking hers with short overalls by Brandy Melville. Like mother, like daughter!

Fall Beauty: It’s All About the Eyes

One of the quickest and most inexpensive ways to update your look for the new season is through makeup. This fall, more than ever, it’s all about the eyes! After all, we’ll be wearing masks in public for the foreseeable future. So, what’s new? Shades of pink, metallics, and even crystals and embellishments off to the side of the eye. All very dramatic and artistic. Luscious, long lashes and bold eyeliner are key.
