Ask Our Style Techs | What to Wear to a Beach Wedding
Q: I’ve been invited to a friend’s wedding this spring to be held on the beach in Mexico. What should I wear?? — Lisa D.
A: We love beach weddings — the setting is so romantic! Plus, it’s a great excuse for a getaway, while celebrating the love of the couple. The first thing to remember is, while the wedding is more casual due to the setting, it’s still a wedding. This may be obvious, but NO swimsuits. You can’t go wrong with a pretty sundress or flowy maxi dress. And, of course, the “don’t wear white” rule still applies, unless specified by the couple. Depending on the time of day — many beach weddings are at sunset — bringing along another layer is a good idea. Once the sun sets, it cools down or the day may be windy and you don’t want to freeze. Also, the right shoes are key. Flat sandals are the perfect choice for walking across the sand or even wedges work well. It’s helpful if your shoes or sandals slip on and off easily in case of sand getting in or simply if you decide to take them off. Complete your look with statement earringsĀ and a gorgeous clutch big enough for your iPhone so you can snap photos. Have a wonderful trip!
