MSL’s Fall 2020 Fashion Trend Guide

Summer is a distant memory and the weather has edged into cooler temps and patio weather — at least here in Phoenix. Patio weather is more welcome than ever as we feel safer dining outside during our ongoing pandemic (ugh)…. but we digress. Let’s get back to the always uplifting, joy-inducing topic of fall fashion! Fall style is our favorite — artful layering, rich textures, luxe fabrics, supple leathers, ornate embellishments and cozy knits. Give us ALLLL of it.

Here’s an overview of what’s trending this season in fashion, plus fall beauty tips from celebrity makeup artist Lisa Moore. Hint: It’s all about the eyes! (Duh, masks. lol)

1 | Relaxed Suiting

The new suit is slouchy and relaxed, reminiscent of the ’80s. Pair with a pointy-toe shoe for maximum street style vibes.

2 | Luxe Leather

A fall staple, leather goes more edgy this season in the form of sexy shorts, minis and plunging wrap dresses. Paired with boots and exotic skins, the look is sophisticated and modern.

3 | New Neutrals

Unfussy and fresh, shades of beige, ranging from nude to tan to camel, are classic and work with any color combination. Or, embrace a polished, tailored look in winter white.

4 | Military Influence

Combat boots with their chunky, lug sole are the boots to own this fall. Style with camo denim or textured tights and a skirt for a ‘90s vibe.

5 | Scene-Stealing Sequins

The latest generation of showstopping sparkles are not afraid to make an entrance. Wear this gorgeous top with satin pants or a pencil skirt for happy hour or layer with denim for daytime.

6 | Quintessential Quilting

Quilted handbags are our jam. They’re quirky yet classic at the same time, making them a must-have accessory.

7 | Flirty Fringe

Head-to-toe boho chic may have been replaced by suiting and sequins this season, but fringe has been worked into the mix to add extra flair to knits and separates.

Make a Statement

If you don’t have a statement belt, are you really a fashion girl? Designer logo belts have taken the fashion world by storm and, while Gucci started the craze, other brands have followed suit with their own covetable designs. Fall Beauty in Focus

It’s all about the eyes! Since face masks are in vogue for the foreseeable future, bold eyes framed by lush lashes and full brows are where it’s at. Think vibrant eye shadow and black liner.

If you’re in and out of Zoom meetings, stock up on tinted sunscreen vs. full coverage foundation and long-wearing matte lipstick, according to Saks Beauty Advisor & Celebrity Makeup Artist Lisa Moore. In addition, she advises that brown eyeliner provides a softer, less-harsh look than black when online. For more beauty tips and inspiration, follow her at @lisa_moorebeauty on Instagram.
