Trend Watch: The Much-Loved Mule is Back
They started to re-appear on the scene last year, but this spring the mule is back in a major way. Mules are essentially backless shoes — they can be any height — and, while generally they have a more casual vibe, they complement a variety of looks, from dresses and skirts to shorts and cropped pants. Be careful when pairing them with long pants, as it’s easy to have the back of your trouser leg get caught under your heel — tacky!
Another word to the wise — please, please, PLEASE promise to keep your heels in tip-top condition, if you are going to be sporting this beloved style. NO cracked or dry heels allowed! Yuck. If you suffer from cracked-heel syndrome, we highly recommend Kiehl’s Ultimate Strength Hand Salve (yes, for your heels too!). It has worked wonders for us.
