Trina and Mr. Turk Take On Scottsdale Fashion Week

The closing night of Scottsdale Fashion Week was held at the fabulous retro-modern Mountain Shadows in Paradise Valley — the perfect choice for the finale runway show featuring the latest Trina Turk and Mr. Turk collections. The lawn running the length of the inner section of the resort was the runway with Camelback Mountain as the backdrop. The setting was ideal for the line-up of resort-ready clothing — whimsical prints, florals, boho-chic flair, and bold bright colors.

If you’ve been following me for a few years, you’ll know that I’m a Trina Turk fan and have featured many of her designs on this blog and in my TV segments. Not only is the line ideal for sunny vacays and climates, but it fits the Arizona lifestyle as well. Even more importantly, her clothes fit and flatter a variety of body types, making them easy and enjoyable to wear.

I wore all vintage to the event, including a vintage Trina Turk dress. It was freezing cold that night — so un-Phoenix-like! — that my coat stayed on. Brrrr. Angela Zdrale of Saks Fifth Avenue looks fabulous in her fur vest and LBD.

Mr. Turk, aka Trina’s husband Jonathan Skow, is the brand’s primary creative designer and the inspiration behind the bold and playful men’s collection. How much do you love his suit?! It’s part of the new collection. Photos by Brad Olson Photography

On to the runway show and a few of my favorite looks!

After the show, attendees were able to purchase some of the looks seen on the runway in the on-site pop-up shop. Or, you can of course check out the looks on trinaturk.com. I’m officially now in the mood for spring!!

ANNNNDDDD…. exciting news! If you follow Mom Style Lab on Instagram, you already saw me mention that the husband and wife designing duo are thinking about opening a store in the Phoenix area! Fingers crossed and we’ll let you know as soon as we hear more.
