Spring 2021 Fashion Embraces Color & Comfort

From bubblegum pink and sunny yellow to emerald green and glow-up orange, fashion is in an optimistic mood this spring! Fashionistas all over the globe are ready to emerge from their cocoon and embrace all the bright, happy colors of the season. (Brights not for you? Pastels are in too!) So, in addition to these eye-popping colors, what else is haute for spring? Key words are: fun, frivolous and easygoing. Yes, you can take the girl out of quarantine, but you can’t take away her sweatpants. Even jeans and trousers are relaxed and roomy. Not the most flattering look on everyone, but as always, “you do you” and wear what works with your shape and personal style. The biggest trends we’re seeing? Here’s the rundown.

Mini Movement.

Mini shorts, mini skirts, mini dresses. It’s time to get your glow on and schedule a spray tan or buy yourself our favorite at-home tanning method, Tan Towels, and practice applying without streaks. Take your pick from pleats, straight, fitted, leather, pleather or tweed fabrications, and just make sure they’re on the short side.

Play Dresses.

Reaching cult status during quarantine times, this style (aka the house dress) is all about volume and loose cut. Comfortable at home or on vacation, it’s perfect for lounging or being at ease while taking in the sights on location. It doubles as a beach cover-up or you can cinch it at the waist with your favorite big belt for a more defined shape. When leaving the house, pair with strappy sandals, a designer bag, and lightly-distressed denim jacket to up level the look.

Flirty Fringe.

It’s the new boho obsession, because after all it’s spring and time to embrace all the peace-loving looks. Fringe is making a strong showing on skirts, shirts and bags. One piece provides a quick, youthful update to your spring wardrobe. How will you wear it?

Luxe Loungewear.

With work-from-home style still in vogue for the foreseeable future (and permanently for many!), loungewear is still at the top of everyone’s list. The challenge now is making it look chic, so no one realizes you’re wearing sweats when you leave the house. The technical fabrics are so good and fancy embellishments make sweats dressy that you can be on point while on camera or off. (More WFH style tips!)

Slouchy Pants.

Surprise… the relaxed, slouchy cut is in! “Mom jeans” have been back in vogue for a hot minute now, and while the name may be meant as a bit of a slam at mom style, the high-waisted, relaxed fit, straight-leg, light wash denim is where it’s at. If this look isn’t for you, as it isn’t always the most flattering on everyone to be honest, wide-leg jeans and trousers are also very much on trend and at their best when paired with wedges. Plus, the proportions of the latter look are definitely on the flattering side. Winning!

Hi, I just saw your segment on Arizona Midday and as a tall girl myself, I would love to know where I can buy items from the brand Live Tall. It might be helpful to include that information in future segments and in your blog. I love that this company exists as most dresses are either matronly or tops on me. It’s hard to find that middle ground as a tall girl
